This meditation pathway is an alternative to mindfulness meditation. Instead of paying attention to your experience exactly as it is (as in mindfulness), here we add a particular attitude of kindness or care to the experience. You don’t need to feel anything special, the impact comes from the repetition of phrases. Compassion training can be helpful when mindfulness feels too overwhelming in moments of challenge, pain, stress or difficulty.

Try out this meditation especially if your signature thoughts/feelings/body sensations/impulses/behaviors when stressed look like: strong inner critic (in the form of thoughts or sudden loss of energy/motivation), perfectionism, fear, anger, blame, physical pain, tension in body, loneliness or feelings of disconnection.
