A Well Child Check is a visit where a physician or pediatrician evaluates the wellbeing of a child in-depth. These visits assess a child's development through a schedule of screenings and assessments. These visits also include age-appropriate screenings and immunizations. Sports Physicals are billed separately and not included in a Well Child Check.
Please note your child’s schedule for visits may differ depending on their physician or pediatrician's recommendations. Below is a typical Well Child Check schedule ranging from newborn through 18 years of age.

Newborns are assessed closely to monitor weight and measurement screenings. Newborns are seen 3-5 days post hospital discharge, again at 1.5 weeks of age, and again at about 2.5 weeks of age. Visits after this are on a recommended schedule of the following months of age: 1 month , 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 21 months, 24 months.
From 3 to 10 years of age it is recommended that the child is seen each year, annually. These visits include a series of developmental screenings and immunizations. Counseling and anticipatory guidance such as injury prevention, safety, and nutrition could be in included in these visits.
From 11 to 18 years of age it is recommended that the child is seen each year, annually. These visits include a series of developmental screenings and immunizations. Counseling and anticipatory guidance such as nutrition, healthy weight, tobacco and alcohol education, sexual behavior and education, mental health assessments could be included in these visits.
