PET/CT Scans in Jackson Hole

A PET/CT scan is a powerful diagnostic tool that combines Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computed Tomography (CT) for detailed images of the body’s tissues, organs, and metabolic activity.

PET/CT scans have many benefits in various disease diagnosis and treatments including:

Cancer Detection & Monitoring
  • Find cancer earlier than with CT and other imaging methods alone
  • Helps doctors determine the best course of treatment by helping with cancer staging
  • Monitors how well the patient is responding to cancer treatment
  • Helps identify a cancer recurrence
  • Provides the detailed information that is needed to plan targeted radiation therapy or surgical treatment
Neurological Disorders
  • Diagnoses Alzheimer's and other dementias by identifying abnormal brain function
  • Diagnoses Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders
Heart Disease Evaluation
  • Measures blood flow and detects coronary artery disease
  • Locates areas of the heart muscle that are damaged or are not receiving an adequate blood supply

This important diagnostic imaging technology helps advance the diagnosis and monitoring of these diseases for Wyoming patients. With support from the St. John’s Health Foundation, PET/CT is available on-site.
