Have you met our full-time oncologist Melissa Cohen, MD?

Dr. Cohen, our full-time medical oncologist, brings over 15 years of experience in breast cancer care, including work as an associate clinical professor and sub-investigator in clinical trials. At St. John's Health she focuses on delivering individualized care, tailoring her approach to ensure that each patient receives the support they need at every stage of their cancer journey.

Outside of work, Dr. Cohen and her husband are passionate alpine enthusiasts, enjoying skiing and endurance sports while raising their two daughters in our vibrant mountain community.

Breast Cancer Screening Guidelines

One in eight women will face a breast cancer diagnosis in their lifetime. However, according to the National Cancer Institute, regular mammograms can reduce the risk of breast cancer mortality by up to 40%. Women 40 years and older should have a clinical breast exam every year.

Our comprehensive suite of women’s imaging services can detect breast cancer, osteoporosis, and other chronic health problems in the early stages. Accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR), St. John's Health is equipped with the latest imaging technology, including breast ultrasound and 3D mammography with Tomosynthesis for optimal imaging results.
