Now seeing patients in St. John's Health Cancer Care
Caring for others runs in the Kerrigan family – awed by her mother’s job as a nurse, Katie decided in 5th grade that she wanted to become a doctor. A self-described decisive person even in elementary school, Katie never swayed from her path.
Katie completed undergrad at The Ohio State University, before studying medicine at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She interned at The Ohio State University, and most recently completed fellowship training at the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah.
Katie’s commitment to caring for others is a central part of her person-centric approach to oncology. When she’s not working with her patients, you can find her enjoying time with her baby daughter Isla Maeve and her husband Rob, playing tennis, hiking, and trying out new brunch spots.
“I am in medicine, and specifically oncology, because of the people. I love to get to know people past their medical chart – to learn and understand what makes them who they are, what makes life worth living, and what is important to them. The relationships I form with my patients are incredibly special and dear to my heart.”
