“First Baby” of 2021 lauded by St. John’s Health and Auxiliary

St. John’s Health is pleased to ring in 2021 with the announcement of the First Baby of the Year, born at St. John’s Health at 1:10 pm on January 1, 2021. Baby Leo was born to parents Kannika and Michael McKelvey of Jackson. He weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces and was delivered by certified nurse midwife Adair Flynt, CNM, FNP. His pediatrician is Dr. Travis Riddell. Leo and Kannika were cared for by nurses Naomi Anderson, RN, and Marc Tetenman, RN. Leo’s father, Michael, was also born at St. John’s.
St. John’s Health Auxiliary recognized the birth by coordinating a warm welcome on behalf of over 30 community businesses and individuals. The Auxiliary presented the family with gift baskets of toys, baby care items, and numerous gift certificates to be enjoyed by the proud parents at local shops and restaurants.
"First Baby" coordinator for the Auxiliary, lactation consultant Janet Wood, RN, extended the Auxiliary's appreciation to the business community for its support of the First Baby program.
