People suffering from chronic pain have another option to help them cope: classes in pain management. St. John’s Medical Center is offering a complimentary eight-week session of classes designed to help people learn new skills to improve their quality of life.
“You can use your brain to help manage your pain,” said Holly Richert, MS, neuropsychology technician at St. John’s Cognitive Health. “Research shows that changing how we think about pain can help reduce pain and change brain structures. This free class is open to anyone with chronic pain who wants to learn new skills to improve their quality of life.”
The next session of weekly pain management classes will be held on Wednesdays, September 11–October 30, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at St. John’s Medical Center. For more information and to register, call 307-739-7589.
