Breast cancer survivors honored at Light the Town Pink on October 1

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, St. John’s Hospital Foundation and St. John’s Medical Center will host "Light the Town Pink" on Tuesday, October 1 at 5:30 pm, on the Jackson Town Square. The event will be marked by pink lights on the southwest antler arch and a ceremony to recognize breast cancer survivors.

The evening will feature information on cancer services and brief remarks about local advances and resources for the early detection and treatment of breast cancer.

"Our community has offered tremendous support, allowing us to acquire 3D mammography and brachytherapy equipment, a specialized form of radiation therapy to treat prostate, breast, and skin cancers,” said Karen Connelly, communications officer at St. John’s Medical Center. "This event helps us celebrate survivors and learn about the importance of early detection and integrated treatment options."

Remarks will begin at 5:45 pm. The event will also feature a refreshments and giveaways. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held at the Wort Hotel.

St. John’s Medical Center and St. John’s Hospital Foundation thank the supporters of the Women’s Health Care Fund: Soroptimist, Stripping for a Cure, Orsetto, Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, Fine Dining Restaurant Group, and Pinky G’s Pizzeria. The brachytherapy equipment was made possible by St. John’s Auxiliary and the Teton Pines Women’s Golf Association.
