Several new free screenings will be offered at St. John’s Annual Community Health Fair, held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 9 am to noon at Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation Center.
“The free screenings that are offered at the Health Fair are part of an ongoing effort to address access to care in our community,” said Julia Heemstra, director of wellness at St. John’s Medical Center. “We are particularly excited about the new screenings we are offering this year—for mental health, concussion, and hernia.”
Additional screenings available at the Health Fair include blood pressure, injury assessment, skin cancer checks, atrial fibrillation, cognitive memory, vision, diabetes, prostate, and more. Spanish language interpreters will be on site.
St. John’s Medical Center staff will also be available to interpret results from wellness blood tests done at the hospital. People interested in this service must schedule their blood draw prior to May 2 in order to have their results read at the Health Fair. To schedule an appointment, call the hospital’s scheduling department at 307.739.7531.
The Spring Run-off 5K, co-sponsored by Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation, will begin at 9:00 am for walkers and runners. Race registration is $10 and is available online at tetonparksandrec.org. There will be no race day registration. Bib pickup begins at 7:30 am.
The Fair will also include family-friendly activities and healthy refreshments provided by Pearl Street Bagels, Healthy Being Juicery, St. John’s Choices Café, and E Leaven Food Company. Linens are generously donated by High Country Linens.
