Light the Town Pink, an annual event hosted by St. John’s Hospital Foundation commemorating breast cancer awareness month, will be held on Tuesday, October 2 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm on the Jackson Town Square. One of the most visible aspects of the awareness month are the pink lights on the square’s southeast antler arch, which will stay lit all month.
The evening’s events will feature information on cancer services and brief remarks about local advances and resources for the early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
"This informative community celebration provides an opportunity to learn about some of the exciting new developments in cancer care," said John Goettler, president of St. John’s Hospital Foundation. "We are pleased to invite the community to this beloved annual tradition of marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month by celebrating breast cancer survivors and sharing resources for early detection and treatment options.”
Remarks will begin at 6:00 pm, followed by a ceremony to recognize cancer survivors. The event will also feature a free raffle, refreshments, and giveaways. Raffle prizes include mammograms, dinner gift certificates, and floral bouquets.
St. John’s Medical Center and St. John’s Hospital Foundation thank Soroptimist of Jackson Hole, Stripping for a Cure, the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, and donors to the Foundation for supporting the Women’s Health Care Fund. The purchase of the 3D mammography was made possible by St. John’s Auxiliary, the Teton Pines Women’s Golf Association, and individual donors to the St. John’s Hospital Foundation.
