Meet Jaime Jackson, RN, orthopedic program manager for St. John’s Peak Joint & Spine program. Jaime will act as your liaison throughout the entire course of treatment, and is available during both pre-operative and postdischarge periods to answer questions about your surgery or recovery.
The Orthopedic Program Manager will:
- Assess your needs at home and caregiver availability.
- Coordinate your discharge plan to home.
- Answer questions and coordinate your hospital care with joint and spine center team members.
- Conduct a pre-operative class for patients undergoing joint replacement or spine surgery.
Pre-operative Class
Orthopedic Program Manager Jaime Jackson designed the pre-operative class to help you prepare for your surgery and learn what to expect during your hospital stay. Patients are encouraged to include a personal coach in their care. “Having a friend or relative act as your coach is very important for support and to keep you focused on healing.” said Jaime. Bring them to the pre-operative class with you and plan on having them involved in your care after surgery.
The pre-op class is mandatory for all patients undergoing spine surgery. Your surgeon’s office staff should have signed you up for a pre-operative class. If not, sign up online or call the Orthopedic Program Manager to schedule your spine surgery pre-operative class. Please do not hesitate to call if you have any additional questions. The Orthopedic Program Manager can be reached at 307-739-6199.
