Update on New Living Center on March 19

Update on New Living Center on March 19

On Monday, March 19, the community is invited to a presentation on the final program concepts for the new St. John’s Living Center. The team from Anderson Mason Dale Architects will present drawings and a preferred site layout at 5:30 pm in the St. John’s Medical Center lobby, followed by a question and answer period.

“The architects had an extensive listening process as part of their initial planning for this project,” said Paul Beaupré, MD, CEO of St. John’s Medical Center. “They met with the public; the Living Center task force; Living Center staff, residents, and families; and other stakeholders as they worked to develop the final programs and spaces. This is an opportunity for the public to hear from the architects on the process, to see how the spaces will relate to each other, and to review the preferred concept for the way the building will be sited on the property.”

This is the second of several information-sharing sessions with the architects, which will follow the project’s design development and conclude at the end of May with a presentation of schematic designs.

Refreshments will be provided.

We embrace thoughtful and responsible design in all aspects of our lives and we constantly strive to create buildings of architectural significance and responsibility.

Our work is developed within a collaborative atmosphere which cultivates research, analysis, and deliberation into judicious decision-making at all levels. Vigorous exploration of client goals is coupled with a detailed examination of their functional needs. This understanding is artfully transformed into three-dimensional space which inspires the daily life within the building. Physical patterns and the cultural fabric of each place are carefully studied to appropriately respond to each site’s unique physical and social context. Materials and systems are selected which respect and sustain our planet and the thoughtful expression of building craft and technology are economically integrated to bring the defining statement of character and identity for each of our clients.
