St. John’s Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce that Rachel Pettengill Merrell has been named Director of Development. Rachel Merrell had previously served the Foundation as the Director of Stewardship and Special Events.
“Rachel has been an excellent contributor to the work here at the Foundation and I’m thrilled to give her the chance to advance her set of skills and experience in this new role." said John Goettler, Foundation President.
Merrell is responsible for working closely with donors, volunteers, and community members to increase donor engagement with the Foundation. In addition, Merrell will direct communication and marketing for the Foundation.
Merrell is also slated to work closely with Foundation President John Goettler and the Foundation board on the implementation of a major capital campaign in support of the Campaign to build a new Living Center. The voters of Teton County passed a Special Purpose Excise Tax ballot measure request from St. John’s Medical Center for $17 million on May 2, 2017.
Merrell said, “I’m honored that the voters shared our vision for a brighter future for seniors in our valley, and excited to work on the campaign effort for the New Living Center.”
Merrell joined the St. John’s Hospital Foundation in January, 2015. Prior to joining the St. John's Hospital Foundation, Merrell served as Associate Director of Development at the National Museum of Wildlife Art. Originally from the Boston area, Merrell holds a B.A. in psychology from Colgate University.
