Peak Joint Replacement Program serves as model-California hospital to visit

St. John’s Peak Joint Replacement Program has been selected to be a demonstration site for other hospitals looking to improve their joint replacement services. The first site visit will take place in early June.

“We’re excited to welcome visitors from other quality health care facilities to our community to showcase our achievements,” said Karen Connelly, chief communications officer at St. John’s Medical Center.

Stryker Performance Solutions selected St. John’s for being a top performer among the 150 hospitals in their system. St. John’s is one of only three demonstration sites in the western United States.

“We have consistently scored in the top one percent in a variety of outcomes,” said Jaime Jackson, RN, orthopedic program manager at St. John's. “We are proud of the efforts that our staff has made to create a quality joint replacement program.”

On Tuesday, June 6, representatives from Casa Colina, a hospital based in Pomona, California, will conduct a site visit to St. John’s Peak Joint Replacement Pro

gram. The group will spend the day at St. John’s to learn more about effective practices and procedures. Participants will visit with clinical staff to learn about operational procedures ranging from anesthesia to nursing, attend a class of pre-op patients, and observe a group therapy class of patients who had surgery that day, among other activities.
