In 2013 St. John’s Health officially partnered with University of
Utah Health (UUH), formally cementing a long period of collaboration between
the two organizations. St. John’s patients have long benefits from
services provided by UUH – including cancer care, neurology, pulmonology,
cognitive health, and prenatal care. This partnership makes it easier
for Jackson Hole residents to access Salt Lake City medical experts and
services closer to home.
Through this affiliation, we can:
Improve coordination of medical care for patients who require services
of both health systems, including better scheduling and more efficient
transmission of information
Further educate St. John’s physicians and staff through training
and courses offered by UUH
Collaborate on efforts to improve quality and develop additional services
Maintain physician and patient provider preference
Small Town Hospital with Big City Resources
There are limits to what a small town medical center can do by itself.
At St. John's, we want to make sure people of our community do not need
to travel long distances for excellent health care. The partnership with
UUH grants our facility access to resources we would never have had otherwise,
including consulting with medical experts in highly specialized medicine.
Hospital affiliations are becoming more and more popular to help facilities
cut down on costs and grant patients more affordable health services.
The UUH partnership has allowed St. John's to maintain its independence
without sacrificing quality services for our patients.
